Liam Gallagher has openly admitted the necessity to “undo” the effects of his extensive partying over the years, which have resulted in numerous health issues.
The 51-year-old Oasis frontman revealed his commitment to a health regimen aimed at reversing the consequences of his past lifestyle choices, which have led to an autoimmune condition, arthritis, and psoriasis.
During his tenure with the band, Gallagher was deeply immersed in the party scene, but he now acknowledges the importance of revamping his lifestyle to prioritize his health and well-being.
In 2017, Liam received a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Disease, an autoimmune condition. Last year, he underwent a significant hip operation to replace joints affected by arthritis.
In a recent interview, he emphasized the urgency to “get back to reality” and prioritize his health, stating that it’s “time to get healthy.”
“All that stuff that you thought was cool in the early days…it’s time to get healthy. You’ve got to undo all the bad work you’ve done through f***ing getting off your head and all that,’ he told.
Regarding his joint replacement surgery, Liam confessed to delaying the procedure due to associated stigma.
He continued,
‘‘I went to get it checked out and my bones are mashed up. The lady was going, “Oh, you might need a hip operation, a replacement.” I think I’d rather just be in pain.
‘‘Which is ridiculous, obviously. I know that. Just get them fixed. But it’s the stigma, saying you’ve had your hips replaced. What’s next?”
Liam disclosed that he has reduced his alcohol intake, ceased drug consumption, and adopted a routine of waking up at 4 am daily.
‘‘As you get older, life is precious, do you know what I mean? I’m a pretty happy-go-lucky guy. I love waking up early in the morning. I’m definitely on the downward slide, though. But we’re all going to die, aren’t we?’ he said.
One aspect of the artist that remains consistent is his ability to perplex fans. After confirming his headline slot at Glastonbury, he abruptly denied its occurrence, leaving fans bewildered.
Taking to X last month, one fan @phillyrussell got more than they bargained for when he asked Liam on social media:
‘‘Will we see you and Squire at Glastonbury this summer LG?’’
The indie rocker simply replied:
‘‘Yeah.’’
Amid the frenzy, Liam responded to a fan page clarifying, “never said I was playing GLASTONBURY everybody COOL OUT.”
When a fan contested, citing his previous statement, Liam explained that he had merely responded affirmatively to a query about attending, adding humor by mentioning the possibility of selling CBD Toblerones.
Regrettably, Liam was not included in the initial lineup announcement for the iconic Worthy Farm festival. Instead, artists like Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Shania Twain, and SZA were confirmed to perform across the weekend.
