Later, Kubo says that that is really good to hear, and she is looking forward to studying with him onwards. However, Shiraishi reminds her that their classes are changing soon.
Where Kubo says that that is right because when the new school year starts, everyone gets separated into different classes, that is where Shiraishi says that the days he is found nu Kubo San may soon be over too.
Later in the episode, we see that the two of them are ready to go home after school, however, it is still raining, and Shiraishi doesn’t have an umbrella because the weather report said it wouldn’t start raining until the evening.
On the other hand, we see that Kubo has the umbrella, and she mentions that that is the perfect time to experiment with something. Although Shiraishi had a bad feeling about it, Kubo says that according to her experiment, they are gonna find out if they stand under an umbrella together, will other people notice Shiraishi or not.
When Shiraishi says that people will notice him for sure, Kubo asks him if he has done this before, and he says no; Kubo gets really excited and desperately wants to try it. However, Shiraisi still declines.
To make things work in Kubo’s favor, Kubo forcefully gives her umbrella to Shiraishi and jumps into the rain, and says that he can go home in her umbrella and she will be run home. Of course, it was not accepted by Shiraishi, who ran to her and said that he couldn’t let her do that, and this was how the experiment began.
On their way home, Shiraishi thinks that she called it an experiment, but all the same, this situation is. Shiraishi believes that he gotta be mindful of their shoulders brushing, and at the same time wonders if they are sharing an umbrella as a couple.

Shiraishi thinks that Kubo has camouflaged this as an experiment which is why he didn’t realize it, but they are sharing an umbrella just like how couples do, and that is where Shiraishi’s words fail. This was when Shiraishi thought that they needed to take an empty street so no one else would see them.
After deciding to go home to a less crowded street, Shiraishi thinks that this is a narrow street that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic, and it is remaining, so there is no chance that they will run into anyone else at that time.
