Kanal 5’s military-themed series, Kompani Svan, returns with an all-new season this week. With a fresh set of celebrities set to be a part of this upcoming season, it’s going to be interesting to see how these actors, who are completely used to living in luxury, will cope with a life of wilderness.
Kompani Svan is mostly inspired by a series from Norway called Kompani Lauritzen. The military series involves a bunch of Swedish celebrities, usually around 12, heading over to the military base to experience basic training.
Even though the training that these Swedish celebs go through isn’t that advanced, the strict rules and intense challenges make it harder for them to stay for a long time on Kompani Svan unless they prepare themselves for what comes next.
Aside from being entertaining to watch, Kompani Svan also teaches a lot about the tough situations the military usually works in and helps the celebs better themselves both physically and mentally.
As usual, Gunde Svan and Mikael Tornving will be leading the celebrities and hosting the program, along with additional help from the Swedish Armed Forces.
The first season, which ended in December of last year, attracted immense popularity due to its format and hilarious moments, which eventually became the reason Kanal 5 started working on a season 2 soon after.
Kompani Svan Season 1: Recap
In the previous season of Kompani Svan, we saw a total of 12 celebrities from different backgrounds group together in hopes of making themselves stronger through basic military training. People like TV presenters, songwriters, rappers, bloggers, and even journalists made it onto Kompani Svan season 1.
The format that the first season followed included three different parts of the challenge or training, where only those who scored the most would be allowed to progress. The first section of the training was the recruitment period, followed by the aspirant period and then the final exercises.
These oblivious celebs were not sure what they were in for, but once the officers started revealing the exercises and training to them, they knew it was going to be a crazy ride. From living a life of luxury to sleeping in uncomfortable spots, these Swedish celebs had to go through tough situations if they wanted to stay in Kompani Svan.
By the end of the series, which had a total of 12 episodes, only a few contestants remained. Each of the previous rounds of Kompani Svan had the one who scored the least leave the show. These training exercises were sometimes performed in groups or individually, based on the nature of it.
The three phases or parts of Kompani Svan had the least scoring celebs perform a one-on-one battle, where the celeb who loses is sent back home. After a nail-biting final battle, the winner of Kompani Svan’s season 1 turned out to be Niclas Wahlgren.
Niclas is an actor and presenter known for his work, like Love Is Not A Game and Susan Brinkui Arirang, who managed to keep high scores throughout the challenge and left Kompani Svan with a glorious victory.
