Nevertheless, the story starts with Komi-san being ogled at by her entire school and even a cat of all things. Komi-san has to be a supernatural Esque being, with how she attracts literally every object drawn in her direction. Then we get introduced to the main protagonist of the story, Todano Hitohito, your typical loser main character who gets the most beautiful girl in the school, just like every slice-of-life rom-com out there.
Then suddenly, he meets Komi-san because, of course, coincidentally, the main protagonists’ lockers are almost right to each other. Almost like the two were fated to be lovers or something. Then unknowingly, Tadano scares off Komi-san because her communicative disorder is so extreme she can’t even make a basic greeting gesture.
In the next scene, as Tadano is monologuing about how easygoing his average life will be, the main characters align once again as his seat is coincidently right beside Komi’s seat in the classroom. Though, it’s not like he has to get involved in her life. He can still be your average dork by ignoring her existence, but this is a rom-com, so we know that logic doesn’t apply here.
Especially considering every student is uncomfortably obsessed with Komi, and anyone who dares tries to befriend her is met with death glares. Nevertheless, next Tadano gets socially murdered by his peers for simply introducing himself after Kimi-san.
