The drama portrays the lives of the ones who have lost their stability following the IMF crisis very precisely and in a detailed manner.

Kim Tae Ri Opens Up about Her Feelings regarding the Drama Ending
If you haven’t watched the final episodes of the drama yet, we suggest you go and watch it before continuing to reading this article. We don’t want to give you spoilers. But, if you’ve already watched the drama, you must be heartbroken and left with a sweet and sour feeling. As you know, the two leads of the drama, who also played each other’s love interests (Nam Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin), do NOT end up together. We fell flat on our faces as we realized by the end of the drama, that the two characters have accepted a fact. The fact that they can’t be together. Let’s see what Kim Tae Ri had to say about the heart-wrenching ‘finale of Twenty Five Twenty One’.
Kim Tae Ri talking about First Love through the Drama
The five friends who are shown in the drama seem to be confused when it comes to the true meaning of love and friendship. They lead a life accompanied by sorrow, sweetness, fun, and dreams. The portrayal of first love in the drama somehow feels like a satisfying one even though the two main leads don’t stay together even though they still do love each other.
As Kim Tae Ri mentioned in an interview, first loves are supposed to be like that. She said that the way first love is shown in the drama is to the mark. Most often than not, first love ends as time goes by because of numerous factors that humans can’t control and they can change a person. She also said that first love is an unforgettable part of our lives.
Nam Hee Do and Baek Ye Jin
As time passed, both the characters of the drama namely Nam Hee Do and Baek Ye Jin, continue to reminisce their past together and remember each other fondly as their first love. They both have their own lives now. One is an internationally acclaimed fencing athlete and the other is a news anchor in New York. The scene where Baek Ye Jin is shown interviewing Nam Hee Do (Four years after they broke up) makes the viewers hopeful, but only in vain. Baek Ye Jin is twenty-five and Nam Hee Do is twenty-one as this happens, and both of them have moved on with their lives.
Nam Hee Do is soon to get married. As Baek Ye Jin wishes her a happy married life, our hearts get crushed. But that’s exactly what the drama is about according to Kim Tae Ri. It portrays a realistic ending for both the characters. The drama teaches us that as relationships break, we move on, but the people that we get to meet along the way mold us into who we are today.
