An exclusive report by StarNews on May 16th revealed significant changes in the girl group Kep1er, confirming a reorganization from a 9-member lineup to a streamlined group of 7 members.
The departure of Kang Ye-seo and Mashiro from Kep1er was disclosed, as both members will join LimeLight, a girl group managed by their original agency 143 Entertainment, recognized for overseeing the activities of boy group iKON.
Kep1er, a multinational project girl group formed through Mnet’s “Girls Planet 999” survival program, debuted in January 2022. It originally had an activity period planned for two and a half years.
However, discussions among member agencies’ CEOs led to positive deliberations on extending Kep1er’s activities beyond the initial timeline, resulting in contract renewals for seven members.
Amid these transitions, Kep1er remains focused on their upcoming milestone with the release of their first full album titled “Kep1going On” scheduled for June 3rd. The group’s evolution underscores their resilience and commitment to their musical journey despite organizational changes. Fans eagerly anticipate Kep1er’s next chapter and continue to support the group’s endeavors.
