Backlash Mounts Against Keke Palmer’s Boyfriend Over Outfit Critique
Actress Keke Palmer’s boyfriend, Darius Jackson, has found himself at the center of a social media storm after publicly criticizing Palmer for her outfit choice at an Usher concert. The incident quickly gained traction online, with Twitter users accusing Jackson of sexism and questioning his decision to air his grievances on social media.
Palmer attended Usher’s Las Vegas residency on July 4, donning a black bodysuit under a sheer dress. During the concert, Usher serenaded Palmer onstage with his song “There Goes My Baby,” and the two shared a hug. A video of the moment circulated on social media, drawing attention to Palmer’s outfit.
Jackson, a fitness instructor and the father of Palmer’s child took to Twitter to express his disapproval of her attire. He quote-tweeted the video, commenting, “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.” This remark sparked an immediate backlash from social media users, who accused Jackson of insecurity and attempting to control Palmer’s choices.
The Outfit Controversy: Public Outrage and Defenses
Twitter users were quick to come to Palmer’s defense, criticizing Jackson for his jealousy and suggesting that he was trying to undermine her success. Some users pointed out that Palmer looked great, was having a good time, and that Jackson’s comments were unwarranted.
Despite the criticism, Jackson stood by his initial remark. In a subsequent tweet, he defended his position, stating, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks for the sake of pleasing other people. This is my family & my representation. I have a set of morals that I believe. I rest my case.”
The backlash intensified with users accusing Jackson of publicly humiliating Palmer and questioning his understanding of the challenges faced by new mothers. Many highlighted Palmer’s post-pregnancy transformation and commended her for looking great while taking care of her responsibilities.
Palmer has not yet responded to Jackson’s comments. However, she shared a couple of photos of herself in the outfit from the concert, expressing her excitement about Usher’s performance.
Meanwhile, Jackson has deactivated his Twitter account leading to more speculations about their relationship status.
