Approximately a month into the controversy over the “suspicion of adultery,” actor Kang Kyung Joon has chosen to address the issue, taking legal action. On January 29 KST, Kang Kyung Joon enlisted a lawyer and filed a power of attorney for litigation related to the purported adultery case with the court.
This legal step follows a 50 million won damages lawsuit filed by the husband of ‘Woman A,’ implicated with Kang Kyung Joon. Filed on December 28 KST, it accuses Kang Kyung Joon as the alleged adulterous party. To prevent a default judgment within 30 days, a lawyer was appointed, prompting the initiation of legal proceedings.
Maintaining silence for almost a month since the allegations surfaced, Kang Kyung Joon’s family, including his wife, actress Jang Shin Young, faced considerable distress. The production of KBS2’s ‘The Return of Superman,’ featuring Kang Kyung Joon’s family, came to a halt, impacting their public engagements. Additionally, the participation of the couple’s older son in KBS’s ‘Korea Khitan War’ was also affected during this period.
The husband of ‘A,’ instigator of the legal action against Kang Kyung Joon, declared through the media, “I have no intention of backing down. I am committed to pursuing this matter in court until the end.” As the legal conflict escalates, there is increasing anticipation surrounding the resolution of the ‘suspicion of adultery’ case and its potential implications for Kang Kyung Joon’s family.
