Kamen Rider 2022 Episode 7 Recap
The episode starts with Ace sitting on a rooftop looking at a coin given to him by his mother, who told him he would be happier if he forgot her. Keiwa’s diary entry for today deals with how eliminated players can return to normal lives while killed players are dead.
He wonders where she might be today. Sara walks in on him and thinks he is watching porn. He denies it, but she says it is normal for a young man like him. A letter Keiwa wrote to himself ten years ago has been found by Sara.
As Neon tries to outsmart Neon’s two bodyguards, Jyamato attacks the city suddenly. Little Keiwa hopes the older Keiwa will grow up to protect world peace. Despite her apologies for the last-minute notice, Tsumuri calls the remaining players to the Final Round. She apologizes for the sudden attack, but the city must be protected.
The Final Round begins right now. Keiwa obtains the Boost Buckle after defeating the Jyamato while remaining undetected. The four players quickly Henshin to get rid of the Jyamato. The Final Boss is also present, and he is initially minuscule.
According to Tsumuri, the Final Boss consumes humans for energy, which allows him to grow larger. As each player gets slapped down by the Final Boss during gameplay, it’s harder to drain its energy and defeat it. That’s easier said than done, as each player takes several hits before the Final Boss escapes.
Ace’s more restrained nature astounds the other members of the green room. The Final Boss states that before disappearing, he killed all Rider players as well as every person within a radius of that final battle.
In Ace’s opinion, tragedy had been erased from human memory before he started playing, so everyone could live in a happier world. A.D. Ace says he’s been playing since 1 A.D. Mikinaga wonders why Ace is still playing if he already won and asked what he wrote down. Ace says world peace, love, or crushing Kamen Riders is not it.
In a desperate attempt to guilt Keiwa into giving up the Boost Buckle, Michinaga demands he hand it over. Keiwa refuses, still refusing to give it up. Girori tries to calm them down, telling everyone to return home before the Final Boss appears.
Ace requests that Neon speaks with him alone, and she invites him to supper. Because the world is in peril, she believes that battling for her love wish is a bit selfish. Ace claims that they are already putting their lives in danger to safeguard the globe.
The request is only a token of appreciation for their efforts. As Ace points out, the ability to fight alone is a source of pride for anyone. In the morning, Final Boss grows larger, and Tsumuri sends the four players away for another round of play.
Keiwa Henshins for the first time with the Boost Buckle. Final Boss slaps him away from the can as he tries to speed towards it. Ace Henshins runs to shield Keiwa from a guaranteed finisher, completing a secret mission and winning the Ninja Buckle for himself. Ace’s mission required him to put himself at risk in order for him to complete it.
Ace claims Keiwa is simply too trusting to recognize Ace’s support last night was a ruse to influence him. Ace will protect the Final Boss, and if he succeeds, his desire will be granted. Ace obtains the Ninja Buckle and uses subtle ninja techniques to wear down the Final Boss so he can kick it.
When he does, the Final Boss shrinks back to his original size. To confirm that the game is not over, Tsumuri teleports the players back to the Temple. The players must kick the can out of the Jamar area to prevent the Jyamato from taking it back. Michinaga inquires how Ace knew about the Ninja Buckle. Keiwa turns to Ace.
“Don’t give me that face. I’m going to save the world, no worries.” Ace replies. “I just know the game better than anyone else.” Ace replies. Keiwa, remembering Ace’s lies, declares he no longer trusts him. He collapses to the floor, Mikinaga and Neon looking at Ace, smirking.
