KAIJU GIRL CARAMELISE is gearing up for its global debut with a wave of new announcements that give fans a clearer look at what to expect from the highly anticipated romantic comedy anime. Pony Canyon has officially revealed the anime’s new global visual while also confirming its worldwide streaming partners, opening and ending theme songs, and a series of promotional events planned for Anime Expo 2026 and beyond.
Based on the manga by Spica Aoki, KAIJU GIRL CARAMELISE blends classic shoujo romance with giant monster action in an unusual premise that has helped the series stand out since it began serialization in Monthly Comic Alive in 2018. The manga has now surpassed 300,000 copies in circulation as of July 2026. With its anime adaptation arriving this month, the latest announcements aim to build excitement for viewers around the world while expanding the franchise’s international presence through streaming platforms and major anime conventions.
New Global Visual Highlights Harugon Before the Premiere
The centerpiece of the announcement is the newly released global visual, which shifts the spotlight toward the giant kaiju Harugon rather than the series’ human cast.
The artwork features Harugon towering over protagonist Arata Minami, teasing the mysterious connection between the two characters. The visual intentionally leaves several questions unanswered, including what Harugon sees and how the enormous creature ties into the story’s central romance.
The image serves as one final promotional push before Episode 1 begins streaming worldwide.
Pony Canyon also confirmed where international audiences will be able to watch the series.
KAIJU GIRL CARAMELISE will begin streaming on Crunchyroll starting July 2 worldwide outside Asia, including India. Viewers across Taiwan and Southeast Asia will be able to watch beginning July 3 through Muse Communication, including Muse Asia’s YouTube channel and additional regional streaming platforms.
Meanwhile, audiences in South Korea will receive the series through major streaming services distributed by KT Studio Genie later in July.
The staggered rollout ensures the anime reaches audiences across multiple territories shortly after its Japanese premiere.
Anime Expo Will Feature an Early Screening and Interactive Experiences

The anime will also receive a significant showcase during Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles.
Visitors to the PONY CANYON Booth (South Hall 1520) can experience a giant interactive peel-off sticker wall built around the newly released global visual. The booth will also feature a photo area where fans can wear heroine Kuroe Akaishi’s signature horns and tail for commemorative pictures.
The celebration continues with the panel “KAIJU GIRL CARAMELISE: The Kaiju-Sized?! North American Premiere” on July 3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Attendees will be able to watch Episode 1 alongside the North American premiere of Episode 2, giving convention visitors an early look at the series.
Following Anime Expo, the production team will continue international promotions with appearances at Otakon 2026 in Washington, D.C., and AnimagiC 2026 in Germany, featuring advance screenings, guest panels, and autograph sessions with members of the creative team.
Opening and Ending Theme Songs Receive Global Releases
Alongside the anime announcements, Pony Canyon confirmed worldwide digital releases for both theme songs.
The opening theme, “KAIJU GIRL” by METANICK, became available globally on July 1. The song serves as the lead track from the artist’s first digital EP, KAIJU GIRL E.P.
The ending theme, “OtomenoHonki” by HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily will follow with its worldwide digital release on July 8 (JST).
Both tracks are expected to play a major role in establishing the anime’s energetic and emotional tone throughout the season.
A Romance That Literally Changes the World
The story follows socially awkward high school student Kuroe Akaishi, who has spent much of her life avoiding others because of a mysterious condition. Everything changes when she falls in love with popular classmate Arata Minami.
The moment Kuroe realizes her feelings, an enormous kaiju known as Harugon suddenly appears, transforming what begins as a traditional high school romance into a city-shaking adventure. The series promises to combine romance, comedy, and monster action while subverting familiar shoujo storytelling conventions.
The anime is directed by Teruyuki Omine, with series composition by Yuniko Ayana, character designs by Mitsumi Nakayama, music production by PONY CANYON, animation from LIDENFILMS, and production by GOOD SMILE FILM.
According to the official press release from PONY CANYON, KAIJU GIRL CARAMELISE begins its worldwide rollout in July, marking the start of what could become one of the season’s most distinctive romantic comedy anime.
