Prime Video has officially confirmed the release date for Maxton Hall – The World Between Us Season 3, bringing the popular German-language series back for its final chapter. The streaming service announced on September 3, 2026, that the third season will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on December 9, 2026.
The announcement arrives alongside a new teaser offering the first look at what awaits Ruby Bell, played by Harriet Herbig-Matten, and James Beaufort, played by Damian Hardung. The upcoming season will continue their complicated relationship while placing Ruby’s future at Maxton Hall College and her dream of studying at Oxford in serious jeopardy.
Season 3 will be released in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Prime Video has also confirmed that this will be the third and final season of the international hit.
Maxton Hall Season 3 Story and Cast Revealed
The new season begins after Ruby is suspended from Maxton Hall College. With her Oxford ambitions increasingly threatened, she refuses to abandon her goals and joins forces with James to establish her innocence.
Their search for the truth will uncover secrets and put their relationships under considerable pressure. As friendships are tested and revelations emerge, Ruby and James will have to determine whether their relationship can survive everything coming their way.
The series has become a major success for Prime Video. The streamer describes Maxton Hall – The World Between Us as its most successful scripted international Original series, while Season 2 reached No. 1 in 42 key markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Italy, Spain and Canada.

Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung lead the returning ensemble alongside Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Eidin Jalali as Graham and Ben Felipe as Cyril. The cast also includes Fedja van Huêt, Runa Greiner, Justus Riesner, Govinda Gabriel, Andrea Guo, Frederic Balonier, Eli Riccardi and Dagny Dewath.
Martin Schreier directs the third season, while Markus Brunnemann, Eike Adler and Ceylan Yildirim serve as executive producers. Yildirim is also the series’ head writer and shares Season 3’s head-writing duties with Sandra Stöckmann, with Catharina Junk, Marlene Melchior and Aylin Kockler also contributing to the scripts.
With the December premiere now confirmed, Maxton Hall fans have a final release date for Ruby and James’ story. The third season will determine whether the pair can overcome the secrets and conflicts threatening their future when the series returns on December 9.
