Universal Pictures has confirmed the release date for the upcoming installment in the Jurassic World series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has set July 2, 2025, for the premiere of the highly anticipated dinosaur-centric film.
Filmmaker David Leitch is reportedly in negotiations to helm the project. Renowned screenwriter David Koepp, celebrated for his work on Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel Jurassic Park: The Lost World, has been enlisted to craft the script for the sequel to 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion.
The publication previously indicated that the upcoming movie is poised to usher in a “new Jurassic era,” hinting at the exclusion of characters portrayed by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who debuted in Colin Trevorrow’s 2015 film, Jurassic World. This follows the release of J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018.
The iconic characters portrayed by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum from the original Jurassic Park saga are also unlikely to make a return in the fourth Jurassic World installment. These three actors joined Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World Dominion.
Spielberg is slated to serve as an executive producer for the upcoming film under his production company, Amblin Entertainment. Alongside him, fellow Jurassic Park veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will take on producer roles, alongside David Leitch and Kelly McCormick of 87North.
