The hugely popular manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen has captured the attention of millions at this point. Since the manga first began, it has earned widespread praise for its exceptional artwork.
Creator Gege Akutami has also woven an intricate, complex storyline that keeps readers engaged. However, all stories must eventually draw to a close, and Akutami has carefully mapped out a definitive ending scene for Jujutsu Kaisen.
In fact, Akutami has privately shared details on the finale with editor Junya Fukuda. In a recent interview, Fukuda confirmed that Akutami has an official ending in mind and conveyed it to him.
After learning about the ending, Fukuda said he felt happy and joyful. However, when pressed by the interviewer to divulge some hints about the finale, the discreet editor kept quiet.
Fukuda made clear that it is not his place to disclose anything about the ending Akutami has planned. However, he jokingly admitted there is one person who could potentially get him to spill the beans about the concluding scene.
So while Fukuda remains tight-lipped for now, Akutami does have a specific ending in mind to wrap up the popular dark fantasy series at the appropriate time. Fans will have to stay tuned to eventually see how the manga concludes the adventures of sorcerers Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro.
Jujutsu Kaisen Editor Jokes About Trading Series Endings With One Piece Editor
During his interview, host posed an intriguing hypothetical to editor Junya Fukuda – would he be willing to trade information about the Jujutsu Kaisen ending with the editor of One Piece, in order to find out the ending Eiichiro Oda has planned for that series?
Fukuda jokingly admitted that in this imaginary scenario, the offer would be too tempting for him to pass up. He implied he would make that editor swap.
However, Fukuda made clear that realistically, neither he nor the One Piece editor would ever violate their professional duties by disclosing confidential story details they are privy to.
As editors, they are sworn to secrecy when it comes to inside knowledge of the manga series they work on. So fans can rest assured that both the planned finale of Jujutsu Kaisen crafted by creator Gege Akutami and the eventual conclusion of One Piece by acclaimed manga author Oda will remain firmly under wraps.
Both Fukuda and his editing peer know not to actually exchange or reveal the closely guarded endings to these beloved series.
While it’s fun to imagine a scenario where the editors trade intel on these hot manga properties, editor Fukuda was just riffing for laughs.
In truth, he remains committed to keeping Akutami’s vision for concluding Jujutsu Kaisen an utter secret known only to its creator and no one else.
More About Jujutsu Kaisen
Yuji Itadori is an unusually physically strong high school student living in Sendai who enjoys helping people. Before his grandfather passes away, he imparts an important message onto Yuji – always aid others and die surrounded by loved ones.
Some of Yuji’s friends from his school’s Occult Club end up unsealing a cursed rotting finger talisman that attracts sinister Cursed Spirits.
To protect a Jujutsu Sorcerer named Megumi Fushiguro, Yuji swallows the finger and becomes the host body to the incredibly powerful Curse Ryomen Sukuna.
All Jujutsu sorcerers are mandated to immediately exorcise Sukuna and Yuji due to the Curse’s evil nature. However, Megumi’s mentor Satoru Gojo sees that Yuji maintains control over his body and convinces his superiors to spare Yuji in exchange for training him to consume all of Sukuna’s 20 fingers in order to eliminate the Curse for good. Gojo brings Yuji to Tokyo’s Jujutsu High School.
Meanwhile, a group of Curses led by the devious spirit Mahito and corrupt sorcerer Suguru Geto, who was executed by Gojo a year earlier, secretly plots catastrophic attacks against the world of Jujutsu to upend magical order.
At Tokyo Jujutsu High, Gojo partners Yuji with fellow first-years Megumi and Nobara Kugisaki to train them to become sorcerers.
During a perilous mission, Sukuna forcibly seizes control of Yuji’s body for the first time. To prevent further harm, Yuji allows them both to die, though Sukuna revives them, having developed a strange interest in Megumi’s potential.
Gojo hides Yuji’s resurrection from higher-ups to continue training him. On another assignment, Yuji befriends a student named Junpei who falls prey to Mahito’s manipulation, motivating Yuji to vow revenge.
