American artist Josh Homme, best known as Joshua Michael Homme, is a singer, songwriter, and record producer. Apart from these skills, he is also the best-known member as well as the founder of the rock band “Queens of the Stone Age.” The immensely famous band was formed in the year 1996 by Homme himself, and he is the main man behind the lead vocals and the guitar. He has also played the drums for another rock band, “Eagles of Death Metal.”
He co-founded the band along with Jesse Hughes in the year 1998. He kick-started his impressive career by co-founding and playing the guitar in the rock band “Kyuss.” Unfortunately, the band was disbanded in 1995. He played the guitar for the “Screaming Trees” before leaving to form Queens of the Stone Age.
Since then, he has gained international fame and performed with several globally famous artists and musicians, including “Arctic Monkeys,” “Royal Blood,” and “Foo Fighters.” Born in Palm Springs, California, on May 17th, 1973, he was raised by a quite well-known and affluent family in Palm Desert, California. His grandfather, Clancy “Cap” Homme, had moved to the area after leaving North Dakota.
He continued to work on the ranch owned by his family despite his musical success because he did not want to lose touch with reality and wanted to stay grounded. His style of music is often defined as alternative rock, desert rock, and stoner rock. He has also done some impressive charity work after he founded the “Sweet Stuff Foundation” in 2013, which mainly aims to provide assistance and aid to musicians and their families who struggle with any sort of illness or disability.

Homme’s relationship with his wife
In 1996, at the Lollapalooza music festival, Homme met Brody Dalle, the Australian musician and singer. She was at the concert to see her then-boyfriend Tim Armstrong’s band “Rancid” perform. Homme, since he was already quite popular in the music scene, was there performing with “Screaming Trees.”
The two met when Homme was 23, and Dalle was just 17. In 2003, the duo reconnected again seven years later and began dating almost instantly. Brody had recently broken up with Armstrong, and as a result of this, the couple faced immense backlash when they got together. Homme even claimed to have received death threats from both Armstrong as well as Rancid’s fanbase.

They decided to get married on December 3, 2005. Dalle gave birth to their first daughter, Camille Harley Joan Homme, on the 17th of January, 2006. Following that, the couple welcomed their two sons, Orrin Ryder Homme (born on August 12, 2011), and Wolf Dillon Reece Homme (born on February 13, 2016).
Dalle and Homme’s divorce
All seemed to be going well when, in November 2019, Brody filed for legal separation from Homme. Subsequently, she filed for divorce around a month later. She later stated that the reason she needed a divorce from the singer-songwriter was due to his severe alcoholism and drug abuse. There were also media reports of Homme completing his time in rehab. The duo would frequently accuse each other of domestic violence and abuse. As a result, multiple restraining orders were filed from both sides in the following months.

In September 2021, Dalle filed for a restraining order on behalf of her two sons on the grounds of emotional and physical abuse, which was quickly rejected by the presiding judges. In 2023, which is this current year, Homme was given sole custody of his children in his home in Malibu, California.
The Legal Battle between Homme and his ex-wife
After 14 years of marriage and three kids, things seem to be quite sour between the two. Homme recently spoke out on the distressing situation. It is said that they peacefully co-parented their kids until Dalle violated the custody agreement terms and barred Homme from seeing his children. Consequently, she was sentenced to community service after she was found guilty of contempt of court.
Homme reportedly said that Dalle disregarded the custody arrangement even after receiving numerous orders from the Los Angeles Family Court to surrender his kids and despite being found guilty of contempt of court. The situation was intensified when Dalle’s boyfriend, Gunner Foxx, forged Dalle’s signature and tried to put the children in harm’s way.
For now, Dalle has been given supervised visitation rights to their youngest son as a temporary solution until a custody hearing in the fall determines another solution for the family. Both Homme and Dalle have not responded to numerous requests for any sort of further comments on the situation.
