Jamie Dorman shares his unexpected experience of kissing a horse.
The Fifty Shades movie actor mentioned that despite being “highly allergic” to animals, he kissed a horse during the shot of his first movie.
Prior to that incident, Dornan was enthusiastic about knowing that he was having this opportunity to shoot with a horse and kiss her lips, but his enthusiasm changed into an unexpected experience for his life. The situation got so intense that even the shoot for the day had to be canceled.
While talking about his allergic reaction issues to the animals, the actor said, ‘I like them as a species; I just can’t get close.” The actor mentioned before that he made the grievous error of locking lips with an equine (a species of horse) even though he had already encountered a drastic experience with a horse while filming Marie Antoinette.
Dornan’s role in the film almost included the involvement of the horse, as the actor said, “My character (Count Axel Fersen) pretty much has to spend the whole movie on a horse” while talking about his encounter. While explaining his experience, he said on the show, “And I forgot I hadn’t been around horses for a long time.” To do the scene, Dornan had to take a two-week riding training outside Paris.
The consequences that the actor had to face were terrifying and weird, as he shared, “I was itchy, and my whole face had become a giant hive.” Dornan had to suffer madly after the scene, as the allergic reaction was so terrible that it made him feel as if his lips had absolutely blown up. Regarding the treatment, the actor said, “I had to get EpiPens. Then they almost couldn’t insure me to do the movie.”.
Since the incident, Dornan has taken precautions and been heavily medicated to ensure that there are no possibilities of the actor getting harmed. As an actor, one usually encounters an animal during shooting, and horses are among the most commonly seen.
Henceforth, to continue his job, Doran needed to be medicated whenever he was near a horse. The actor, while joking, said, “So if you see me on a horse, I’m very heavily medicated.” Even though Dornan had a tragic experience working with a horse, he still continued working with the horses, and he was again seen in the 2012 release of the historical drama “New Worlds.”
