Apple TV+ has shifted the premiere date for its upcoming thriller, Presumed Innocent, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Instead of the planned June 14 release, fans can now watch it on June 12.
The series will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9, followed by two new episodes on Apple TV+ and weekly releases every Wednesday for six weeks. Set in the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office, the show centers on a shocking murder accusation involving one of their own.
Themes of obsession, sex, politics, and love unfold as the accused fights to protect his family and marriage. Based on Scott Turow’s best-selling book, the adaptation adds to Apple TV+’s growing list of book-to-screen projects.
Gyllenhaal plays Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich, with the series produced by David E. Kelley, Gyllenhaal, and J.J. Abrams. The star-studded cast includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, and Renate Reinsve.
