Fans can now listen to the full ending theme “STAR” by Japanese rock band Queen Bee, released shortly after the anime’s July 4 television debut. The song captures the emotional atmosphere of the historical drama and continues the series’ promotional campaign following its international festival screenings.

A Historical Story of Survival and Knowledge

Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is based on Tomato Soup’s award-winning manga A Witch’s Life in Mongol. Set during the rise of the Mongol Empire, the story follows Sitara, a young girl whose life changes after she loses her mother and is taken in by the scholar Fatima.

As Sitara grows up, Fatima’s son Muhammad teaches her that knowledge is one of the greatest sources of strength. Those lessons become even more important when war separates them, and Sitara is taken captive, forcing her to rely on her intelligence to survive.  The manga has received widespread critical acclaim in Japan. It ranked highly in This Manga Is Amazing! 2023 for female readers and later earned the Grand Prize in the Comic Division at the 55th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards.

Science SARU is producing the anime, with acclaimed filmmaker Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice, The Heike Story, The Colors Within) serving as chief director and Abel Góngora directing the anime.

Kenichi Yoshida is responsible for the character designs and also serves as chief animation director. Kanichi Katō oversees the series composition, while Kōshirō Hino composes the music for the historical drama. The series gained international attention even before its television debut. It screened in competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and later held its North American premiere during Anime Expo 2026.

Queen Bee’s “STAR” Completes the Anime’s Music Lineup

The anime opens with “Stella” by SEKAI NO OWARI, while Queen Bee performs the ending theme “STAR.” The emotional ballad reflects the series’ themes of hope, resilience, and perseverance.

Queen Bee vocalist Avu-chan said the song was inspired by Sitara’s inner strength and determination despite the hardships she faces throughout the story. The goal was to create a song that would stay with listeners long after each episode ends.

Manga creator Tomato Soup also praised the ending theme, describing it as a song that captures both sorrow and hope. “STAR” became available on streaming platforms and digital stores on July 5, 2026, shortly after the anime’s television premiere.
