The promotion of Farmer Al’s farming talents to level 10 results in an odd boost in his warrior qualities to 65,000 points. He throws a carrot in an attempt to confuse an S Rank dragon that he witnesses being fought by adventurers, but the carrot instead kills the dragon.
Princess Fal-Ys is abducted in Meigis City, but Al defends her thanks to his new skills. Fal-Ys is shocked when he learns that Al fought the kidnapper despite the fact that he possessed over 500 warrior points—an incredible number considering that most people only have 50.
Meigis learns of a monstrous army that hasn’t been seen before Demon Lord Macbeth was slain. Officer Cecil asks that the army be destroyed, but after drawing Fal-Ys and the King away from Meigis, he reveals that he is really Romeo Vandead, Macbeth’s Demon General and that his true intentions are to kill Fal-Ys and the King, then pretends to be the king to govern Meigis himself.
Al steps in at the last minute, terrified that the army will destroy Meigis and leave him unable to sell his crops. Al only needs one blow to knock Romeo out. Al agrees to enroll as an adventurer and serve the Kingdom as necessary in return for Fal-Ys giving him a 33,000 square-meter farmland. Al nods in agreement but understands he was duped when he goes to the field and discovers a barren area unfit for farming.

I’ve Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills. Episode 5 Recap: “The Farmer and Lurugus”
Ruri, the girl, volunteers to accompany Al to Lurugus. With yet another letter from Al’s mother, Reaks eventually manages to locate them. This saddens Ruri because her own family has no interest in her at all. Ruri sets up camp, displaying her huge bag, which she received from her hero descendant who slew Demon Lord Macbeth, despite its diminutive size. Ruri is in training and has heard that accidents and demon sightings are a problem in Lurugus.
She aspires to carry on the hero’s legacy someday. Al begs Ruri to accompany him back immediately in a week after they say goodbye when they arrive in Lurugus. Al pays a visit to his parents, the adoring housewife Lucica and the bulky farmer Gilles. Just by mentioning Ruri, Al causes Lucica to lose her cool, accusing him of being too immature for girls, marriage, and children while also playfully lashing both Al and Gilles.
Since there have been neither accidents nor reports of demon appearances in Lurugus, Gilles is dubious of Ruri. After buying his fertilizer, a cunning guy follows Al and Ruri into the forest, where he reveals that he has used strong illusion magic to control them and that he even used false reports of demons to get Ruri to Lurugus in the initial place because he believes she is the hero’s descendant.
