Real estate shows have always been the buzz and Island Life is another addition to the list of calming shows you can binge on.
The series was first seen on television in January 2015. Since its inception, it has been renewed multiple times. The show is primarily aired on HGTV which is a well-known platform for all series related to housing, renovations, and real estate dealings.
In August 2020, only a single episode was aired of season 19. The show had to stop its filming due to COVID-19 restrictions. Since the pandemic has been retreating this year, the show was rescheduled to continue working on the 19th season’s episodes. The show has featured some of the most scenic locations in America, such as Mountain Desert island, Padre Island, Long beach island, and many more. It only exhibits homes that are at most 30 minutes away from the beach or a lake and have picturesque views from the house’s windows.
It starts with the introduction of the family that will be buying the house in the episode. Short clips and snippets of their life are shown so we can understand exactly what they aim to buy. Once this is done, the show then features the real estate agent that will be showing them the properties.
The agent takes them to various locations that they find suitable for the family, mostly those which meet almost all of the criteria set by them. They are also informed about the prices. Some people look for secluded and calm homes with a great backyard, while some prefer to live in a community-type area. The family visits each house and tours the whole plot while commenting on its decoration.
After all the houses have been viewed, they are allowed to think about their final decision from all the houses shown to them. After a meeting with the real estate agent, they let their thoughts be known and confirm the final price and modifications if any. We do also get to see a small clip of the family adjusting to their new home.
Island Life Season 19 Episode 16: Recap
In the previous episode that was released on October 9, 2022, The island of choice was South Padre Island in Texas. The island’s town is known for various ways of enjoying the calm as well as fun leisure activities the residents can be a part of.
South Padre island is also known for its Wildlife sanctuaries, Dolphins, Birding Centre, and Lighthouse that are accessible for public viewing. The beach here allows personal cars as well as horses to move freely, which is quite rare in popular beach spots.
This episode featured a doctor and her partner looking to finally settle down in their much-loved vacation place. Their budget was about half a million dollars with the criteria that the house should have an amazing view along with long fences as they had dogs. Having fences would allow a safe place for the dogs to play as well as for the family to have better privacy.
This was also coupled with the need for a backyard pool. The family is shown around all the suitable residential areas of South Padre Island, and by the end of the episode, they know they have found their next home.

The Next episode of “Island Life” will air on October 16th, 2022. Each episode of the show lasts for 60 mins and features two separate families.
Island Life Season 19 Episode 17: What to Expect?
The Next episode, titled “Returning to roots on St. Simons,” will feature a couple who just got married and are now in search of a home they can live in for a long time with their growing family.
The other part of the episode titled “Cooking Up a New Chapter near Charleston” will consist of a woman who is looking to live near the Food streets of Charleston, with her adorable dog. She belongs to Boston and wants to be able to travel easily to the place she works at.
