Movie Dhruva Natchathiram directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon has been delayed once again, the movie has been pulled from its release. The movie was announced to be released on 24 November 2023 but due to certain reasons the release of the movie was pulled over.
The director of the movie, Gautham Menon, had been promoting the release of the movie on social media for the whole week, but at that last moment, issues became obstacles to the release of the movie, and it was delayed once again.
The movie landed on the floor back in 2017, but six years later, it faced obstacles like legal matters and financial issues, which have led to the movie being delayed multiple times in the past as well. Earlier, the date that was announced for the release of Dhruva Natchathiram was November 2023, during the Diwali occasion, but due to some reasons, it had to be postponed.
What are the obstacles behind the delay in the release of the movie?
Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One: Yuddha Kaandam, directed by Gautham Menon, had been pulled from release on the announced date of November 24, 2023 (Friday). The director, along with others, was promoting the release of the movie with its date for a week.
The director Menon, issued a statement by posting an apology note on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the delay of the movie, where he apologized and said that Dhruva Natchathiram to the screen today. They had tried but failed to release it on the announced date. He also said “But looks like we need a day or two more. Hoping to give everybody a good experience with advance bookings and proper screens everywhere around the world.”
While concluding the statement, he says, “The support for the film is heartwarming and has kept us going. Just a few more days, and we’ll arrive!” The tweet was made on November 24 at 2.59 AM (IST) and confirmed the postponement of the movie.
Finance has been a bigger obstacle for the release of Dhruva Natchathiram since 2016, but it became a more troubling issue when the Madras court filed two cases against the movie. Additionally, just a day before the release of the movie, which was on Friday,
The director, Menon, received a letter from the court on November 23 ordering him to return 2 crore rupees to All In Pictures before the release of the movie on November 24. A film press meeting was held in Chennai on Monday, which was also canceled. It confirms the film still has issues to deal with.
It can be said that due to the failure to complete the order given by the court, the production house, director, and team had to take the decision to postpone the release of Dhruva Natchathiram. According to what Menon posted on X (formerly Twitter), the fans can expect the release of Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One—Yuddha Kaandam after a few days with a new release date.

The shoot for the movie started back in 2017, but it took a long time to be released because of some financial issues as well as the required quality of the shoot. The film was shot in seven different countries. The COVID-19 pandemic also had an immense effect on the movie; anyway, it was concluded in February 2023.
It is a spy action film in the Indian Tamil language, directed and produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Vikram as the leading cast and Ritu Varma alongside him as the female lead. The other cast members are R. Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, Simran, and Vinayakan.
The music of the film is composed by Harris Jayaraj, the editing has been done by Anthony, and the cinematography is managed by Manoj Paramahamsa, S.R. Khathir, and Vishnu Dev.
Furthermore, a poster of the film with “bookings open soon” was posted by the makers on Thursday, but the unsettled issues caused the delay in the movie, and no bookings were open in Tamil Nadu. It’s a little confusing that the main lead, Vikram, has not posted any promotional posters for the film yet.
Two songs from the movie have already been released: Naracha Mudi on 4 November 2024 and Oka Madi on 16 November 2023. It is composed, arranged, and programmed by Harris Jayaraj.
Hopefully, this time, all the issues get settled and cleared, so the release of the movie will happen without any further delay or postponement.
