Who Is Jack Wagner?
Popular actor Jack Wagner plays the role of a forensic investigator and lawman, Bill Avery. His character was introduced as he arrived in Hope Valley in order to investigate a mine explosion investigation in Season 1.
Fans have loved the character over time, and he became somewhat of an important figure in the community while holding important roles throughout the town’s administration, including sheriff and interim mayor as well. Avery also developed a close bond with Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton (played by Erin Krakow). He also became the godfather to her child, little Jack.
Wagner admitted in an early interview that it has been nice to play this character who is rigid and is also by the book. He explained how his on-screen character had been a sheriff, a judge, and has never shown any sign of weaknesses.
The actor also took this opportunity to admit that it has been nice to shoot scenes with Erin, and his character showed some vulnerability during that time. Wagner admits that he loves how by the book his character is, and also likes the comedy that Bill brings to the series.
