Invincible, someone that can never be defeated or will never die, you know who is someone who resembles the description? For those of you who are thinking about God, then you are wrong. In the 21st century there is more than one verse, and other than religion, there are multiverse who believe in superhumans, people who have superpowers and can only die under specific circumstances like Superman and Spiderman.
But these superheroes are 90’s heroes, new generation needs a superhero whom they can relate to. So, the entertainment industry has a new Genz superhero called Invincible. This hero is a normal teenager who has normal early life crises like bullying, grades, and math.
However, he had one advantage in his life, that is his father was a superhero. For all of us, our fathers are our superheroes, but his father was literally a superhero Omni-Man.
Previously On Invincible
The story revolves around a 17-year-old high schooler named Mark Grayson, who is the son of a superhero Omni Man. Mark was living a normal life, like a school kid, where he goes to school, completes his homework, watches a pretty girl from behind the usual teenager stuff until he realizes he is also a superhuman like his dad. His powers start showing up when he has an extended lifespan, more stamina, and a healing factor.
However, even though he was superhuman, he was still a human being, and unlike any teenager, he was very confused about life. He was very confused about what to do with his powers, so he turned to the literal and metaphoric hero of his life, the “Omini-man.” But the super father was a parent who believed in tough love. He pushed Mark too hard. After which Mark decided to explore these powers on his own.
In the process, he explored that his father was not the person he always thought him to be. And he got exposed to the ugly world that breathes beneath the beautiful creation of god. Mark is one of those superheroes who want to save the world and want to be one of the good guys. But every one of us knows how it goes.
This is a very powerful scene in the show where the villain tries to change the mindset of Invincible by pushing him in front of the metro train, and every human that comes in contact with the hero dies. The villain proves his point by stating humans are very weak, and they don’t deserve to live. However, Mark conflicts by saying even though they are weak, they serve a purpose on this earth.
