In the second-to-last episode of Invincible Season 2, Mark faces tough challenges. His relationship with Amber is falling apart. He helps his mom raise his half-brother Oliver. His dad Nolan is still captured by the Viltrimites.
Mark is recruited by Allen the Alien to lead a rebellion against the Viltrimites. Despite the overwhelming developments, Season 2 raises the stakes. Episode 7, “I’m Not Going Anywhere,” is action-packed with drama and character moments.
In Episode 7, Mark and Amber go to a comic convention. Mark feels uncomfortable seeing people dressed as his superhero alter-ego and rivals.
But inside, he enjoys being a regular fan. He notices Amber acting distant and suggests leaving early to spend more time together. Amber says she’s happy just being with Mark.

At the convention, Mark meets his idol, Filip Schaff, creator of Seance Dog. Mark asks about the new season, and Schaff explains the challenges of making animated shows, like long wait times and cutting corners for better animation.
Eve’s call about Rex’s solo mission interrupts Mark and Amber’s cute date in the episode. Mark leaves Amber to help Rex, who impressively defeats a monster. They discuss their struggles, and Mark mentions his relationship issues.
Meanwhile, Rudy creates a robotic suit for Amanda. Amanda, however, rejects it because she feels cursed. Black Samson worries about the team’s personal problems. The Immortal is devastated by Dupli-Kate’s death and wants to quit, but Cecil insists he takes a break instead.
At Upstate University, Rick still has nightmares about being kidnapped. Donald tries to quit the GDA but is refused. He learns he chose to erase his memories. Donald rushes to stop Rick from suicide, revealing they both have robotic skeletons.
He meets the new dean, B.N. Winslow, who gives him a choice: focus on studies or something else. Mark commits to college. Debbie shares her struggles raising Mark alone due to Nolan’s absences, questioning their relationship.
Mark and Amber have a romantic evening interrupted by a Viltrimite agent, Anissa, who threatens Amber. Anissa tries to recruit Mark but fails. They team up to fight a kaiju, showing a unique dynamic.
Mark returns to Amber, who breaks up with him after feeling unsafe. Mark receives a call from Angstrom Levy about Debbie and Oliver’s capture. In the post-credits scene, Anissa reports to General Kregg and fights Allen, who tries to get closer to Nolan.
