Following Adults Adopting Adults, A&E is giving viewers another reality program that showcases even stranger living situations. This time, they follow eight individuals as they invite recently released prisoners into their homes. A disclaimer states that the program allows released inmates to live in people’s homes as they integrate back into society, has decreased recidivism and that these arrangements were made by the “returning citizens” independently. Newly freed criminals move in with regular individuals who open their homes to them.
Inmate To Roommate follows 8 common people who chose to shelter various prisoners when they are let out of custody. Of course, in each instance, their friends and family voice their skepticism, and the opening sequence, which features snippets from the season, indicates that conflict will arise between the former inmates and the homeowners who welcomed them into their homes.
“Inmate to Roommate” follows With over 76% of convicts who are released from prison getting arrested again after five years, America has one of the highest recidivism rates in the world. Access to housing is one of the most important elements in lowering recidivism rates. The former inmates will come into this new living situation with their own baggage, as will their various roommates
As each of them is scrutinized by friends and family who are unsure of their motivations, the chances and difficulties are complicated. Will the recently incarcerated be able to effectively reintegrate into society in this new circumstance, or will it be the worst choice either party has ever made?
