Jang Dongwoo, a member of the popular K-pop group INFINITE, has officially joined the cast of the upcoming musical adaptation of Dream High, a beloved coming-of-age K-drama that resonated with audiences through its heartfelt story and vibrant musical numbers.
In the musical, Dongwoo will portray Jinguk, a complex character who serves as both a rival and a helper to the protagonist, Song Samdong.
Jinguk’s tough exterior hides a lonely individual who yearns for happiness. Dongwoo, known for his powerful vocals, dynamic dance skills, and theatrical presence, is expected to bring depth and energy to the role.

Dongwoo’s experience in the musical theater world is extensive, having participated in notable productions such as In the Heights and Altar Boyz.
This marks his 5th musical since making his theater debut in 2015. With over a decade in the industry, Dongwoo is now making his return to the stage as a major theater actor.
Speaking about the message of Dream High, Dongwoo shared,
“My family and I are all living with dreams. I hope the audience can also have moments where they continue to chase and knock on their dreams. Don’t lose interest in the concept of ‘lifelong learning’ and keep questioning why you dream and strive. May your dreams continue.”
Dongwoo is also set to participate in the Busan Step Up Dance Festival on May 17 as part of the musical’s promotional activities, further generating excitement for his involvement in this highly anticipated production.
