Reports from NBA insider Shams Charania reveal an investigation by Indianapolis police into an incident involving Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of the Bucks-Pacers series.
Beverley’s frustration boiled over during the game, leading him to throw the ball into the stands, inadvertently striking a woman near the court. Subsequently, a nearby fan returned the ball to Beverley, who then threw it into the stands again.
Beverley said sorry after the incident
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) confirmed their involvement, stating they are reviewing video footage and plan to interview those involved.
In response, Beverley publicly apologized on his podcast, acknowledging the incident as “bad” and expressing a commitment to improve his behavior in the future.
As the investigation unfolds, Beverley’s actions serve as a reminder of the importance of player-fan interactions and the responsibility of athletes to conduct themselves appropriately both on and off the court.
