One of the most respected and gifted wrestlers in the WWE, Chad Gable possesses amazing power and ground-tackling abilities. He was the only person to defeat The Ring General on the main roster during last year’s battle with Gunther, and he had a fantastic single run. But since it was a count-out victory, he was unable to take the championship away from him.
He faced the Mighty Austrian again, but he was unable to prevail. Despite the feud never coming to an end, the IC Champion went on to other storylines and feuds. Gable now talked of completing his novel and rekindling his rivalry with Gunther.
Chad Gable on finishing his story
In a recent interview, Chad Gable discussed his unfinished story with Gunther and the Battleground Podcast. Recalling their rivalry for the Intercontinental Championship, Gable stated that he never felt like he had a satisfactory conclusion to the conflict and that he now aspires to bring his tale to a close by unseating Gunther to win the title.
He stated that although he is a singles wrestler and wants to prove it by winning the singles belt, he is tied to the stigma of being a tag team player.
According to Chad Gable, “For those who missed it, Gunther and I competed for the Intercontinental Championship during a stretch in the late summer and early autumn. He’s currently on a record-breaking, ridiculous run with the title.
I don’t believe I ever found a resolution to [his conflict with Gunther]. There seemed to be a few unresolved issues that needed to be resolved. First and foremost, I would like to complete it if I could have my way. I want that story to be finished.
“I want to take home that title and, at last, establish myself as a single man. Being a tag team wrestler has kind of always carried a reputation with it, and I believe that capturing my first singles title will be my opportunity to permanently overcome that. Thus, it would be my objective.
