HIDIVE announced the spin-off on November 3, confirming that the new series will join its Fall 2026 simulcast lineup. Unlike a conventional continuation of the fantasy romantic comedy, Omake Shorts will use short comedy sketches to place familiar characters in situations outside their usual adventuring roles.
The announcement also included an official English-subtitled trailer, giving viewers an early look at the spin-off’s chibi-style presentation.
Dark Summoner Cast Gets a Chibi Comedy Spin-Off
The 12-episode series will feature Amona, Roni, and other returning characters in a collection of comedic scenarios. Rather than focusing on their fantasy adventures, the sketches will explore alternate settings, including cafés, offices, and schools. These everyday situations give the characters an opportunity to take on different roles while retaining the personalities established in the original show.
Amona and Roni remain at the center of the spin-off. Their contrasting personalities helped establish the romantic comedy dynamic of I’m Dating a Dark Summoner, and the new shorts will offer another way to explore their relationship through lighter, self-contained stories.
The returning voice cast includes Rei Takano as Amona, Yuki Nishiyama as Roni, and Semmai Hodentei as Imp. The spin-off is directed by Acali Arimiya, who also handles character designs and co-writes the scripts with Araki Humisato. Production is being managed by WWWave Corporation’s Deregula animation studio.
When and Where to Watch I’m Dating a Dark Summoner Omake Shorts
I’m Dating a Dark Summoner Omake Shorts premieres exclusively on HIDIVE on November 6, 2026. The series will be available to subscribers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
HIDIVE has also released an English-subtitled trailer for the spin-off on YouTube. Viewers can watch it here ahead of the premiere.
The bonus series arrives alongside the ongoing Fall 2026 run of I’m Dating a Dark Summoner, which adapts the fantasy romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Shaoh. The original story follows Amona, a demi-human dark summoner, and Roni, a priest, whose unexpected romantic connection forms the foundation of the series. HIDIVE’s Fall 2026 lineup confirms that the shorts are scheduled for Fridays beginning November 6.
With 12 short episodes and a comedy-focused approach, Omake Shorts gives fans another opportunity to spend time with the original cast without following the main story’s usual fantasy-romance format.
