During a recent appearance on the “Cultwo Show” on April 24th, members of ILLIT—Yunah, Minju, Moka, and Wonhee—expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming response to their debut song “Magnetic,” which topped major domestic music streaming sites.
Moka shared her surprise and happiness, noting, “I’m amazed and happy that people like ‘Magnetic’ despite our recent debut less than a month ago.” Similarly, Minju expressed her astonishment, calling the experience “like a dream” and expressing gratitude for charting success, saying, “We’re living with gratitude.”
In addition to their chart-topping achievement, ILLIT took the opportunity to extend their thanks to company officials. Yunah specifically addressed members of BELIFT LAB, acknowledging their hard work and dedication in crafting ILLIT’s successful debut album.
She emphasized the group’s pride in their work and expressed unwavering gratitude to the staff at HYBE for their belief and support, promising to continue their efforts.
The radio hosts lightened the mood by joking about Yunah’s prepared remarks, teasing, “Yunah wrote down her remarks on an A4 sheet” and playfully suggesting she had planned her comments.
This expression of gratitude comes amidst ongoing industry conflict between HYBE and ADOR, with HYBE recently activating audit rights amid suspicions of ADOR’s attempt to seize management control.
ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin has publicly criticized ILLIT, alleging that the group is copying NewJeans across various entertainment activities, including styling, choreography, and appearances. Despite the conflict, ILLIT remains focused on their music and expressed appreciation for the support they’ve received from BELIFT LAB and HYBE.
