Francette and Roland protected Karoru in the previous chapter. Viewers are curious to find out how Karoru would heal Francette’s wound after the fatal attack in I Shall Survive Using Potions Episode 7.
Kaoru was planning to take down the imperial army; she told the kids to take the portion and all the money they had saved to run away from their place if anything went wrong.
Because those portions were capable of healing any kind of injury or illness, they never expired. The kids wanted to go with Kaoru, but she suggested they stay put.
Because she was going to fight a huge army, and the chances were she could get killed in the process. The kids did not mind the risk since they believed that if Kaoru did not help them, Belle would have died.
None of them would have been alive if it were not for Kaoru. The city treated the kids horribly, but Kaoru was the one who gave them clothes, food, and a house where they could sleep peacefully.
She was very kind to them and taught them how to make money and run a business. They were not incapable kids anymore; they gathered the information for Kaoru and provided protection for her.
They had become her eyes in recent times. So Kaoru decided to take the kids with her. Roland was furious at Kaoru after seeing that she had brought the kids to the battlefield. On the other hand, Kaoru was mad at him because he had brought the royals.
Recap
Kaoru Roland and his companions stopped by every village they passed through. To stock up on the bare minimum of things they needed and all the foods they could get.
They directed the villagers to evacuate for a while, and Kaoru used the time to use her portions to heal everyone who was too sick or injured to move.
They checked out the village well and other water locations. Kaoru and Roland made arrangements to evacuate the villagers and transport the food.
Roland informed their chief about the enemy army, and he understood the water situation. They told him that he needed to give all the villagers clear directions.
Kaoru considered the speed of the enemy’s advances and calculated that it was going to be the last village they were stopping by.
Kaoru advised Roland to leave half of their soldiers in the village so that things would not get messy before their return.
They were preparing to face off against the enemy army the next day. Kaoru had no intention of losing to them. Francette tracked the enemy army and informed Kaoru that they were two hours ahead of them, so they had to take a break.
At the speed at which they were moving, she estimated their arrival beforehand. They received notice that the logistics unit was going to pass by them soon.
Kaoru and everybody else got ready to throw white balls at the logistics unit’s front and rear. They managed to divert the army for safety reasons.
Kaoru had reduced the trigger sensitivity on the white ball they threw to confuse the army. Roland’s team had already finished transporting all the villagers and the food beforehand.
So when the army arrived at the village, they had no food supply, and because the well was poisoned, the soldiers got a stomachache and other illnesses after drinking the water from it.
Roland told Kaoru that an army water shortage was the worst experience for soldiers. So, he believed that the situation could become fatal within days.
