There is a recent upsurge of series that comment and focus on the dark world that teenagers have indulged themselves in; one great example of this is Euphoria, and another would be The Idol. I don’t think there is anyone who has not heard about the show or its release that will be happening in a few days. Not much information is available about the show, its actual plotline, or even the kind of message it wants to give the audience.
There certainly have been a lot of controversies, rumours, and assumptions being made about it. It has been said to be the show with the most amount of controversy about it, even before the official release of the show. The show was even set to premiere on an earlier date but was delayed because of certain consequences that came in the way; the wait is over, though; the show is indeed making a premiere, and the time for waiting is over.
The Idol is a series that follows the storyline of Jocelyn, an American pop star, and her romance with Tedros, a cult leader of sorts who runs a bar and has a dirty past that he carries with him. Will her encounters with him encourage her and help her achieve her deepest desires to once again be America’s sexiest pop star after her mental breakdown during the tour, or will this romance bring her down and deeper into a world that she knows little to nothing about? There are so many things going on for the show, such as the amazing cast that is playing lead and supporting roles in The Idol and also Sam Levinson, who has experience with creating such screenplays.
Sam Levinson has a lot of controversies that surround him, the set, the working environment, and the kind of content he brings to the audience. Nevertheless, Euphoria did well on-screen, and The Idol is speculated by many to be a part of the Euphoria world too; all that’s left to do is see how things turn out for the series and whether any publicity is good publicity falls true for The Idol or not. Talking about the cast of the show, we have so many big names, such as Abel Tesfaye, Lily-Rose Depp, Suzanna Son, Jane Adams, Hank Azaria, Jennie Kim, and Eli Roth. This is Jennie Kim’s debut series working in an American series, not much is known about her role in the series, but people are excited to see her in it!
The series came into headlines when the first two episodes of the American series ‘The Idol’ were showcased at the Cannes Film Festival; from the actors to their dresses and roles, a lot was discussed throughout that time. The wait is over, though; the series will finally be out!
