Sharing the same creators of Big Brother and Holey Moley, The Floor is an exciting game show that has Rob Lowe playing the role of the host. There’s been a lack of game shows in recent months, and Fox has just the perfect unscripted competition series to occupy the space.
The Floor involves placing 81 contestants on squares and having them undergo a trivia duel based on the topics they were given in their respective squares. From topics like bugs and horror films to nepo-babies, this trivia battle will have all kinds of fun genres to choose from.
The more floor a player takes up, the more chances they’ll have of winning. Those players who manage to stay on the floor until the end and have occupied a lot of space will be able to take home a whopping cash prize of almost $250,000.
It’s all about staying cool under pressure in The Floor since the neighbors will be doing their best to take a player down quickly. The players are selected randomly at first, so the ending of the game show is totally unpredictable each time.
About The Show
Based on shows produced by RTL4, The Floor gathers around 81 contestants and places them on 81 squares on “The Floor.” Each contestant would specialize in the topic written on their square, so the more specific, the harder it would get for their neighbors.
The first player of The Floor will be chosen at random, who’ll then have a chance to select any of their neighbors to go into a head-to-head trivia duel with. The topics of the quiz will be based on each other’s squares. The winner of this round will take over the square of the loser, while those who lost will be sent home.
The more a person wins, the more squares or “floors” they’ll be able to conquer easily. However, that would also mean that the number of neighbors they have will increase, which would put them at an equally higher risk of losing their ground.
After winning, the player will have a choice of either ending the round and letting someone else go into the battle or continuing to play and selecting their partner for the next round. The last contestant to stand on the floor will be the owner of $250,000.
