Power Slap: The Plot
Power Slap is an American reality show about a tournament where contestants from different parts of the world compete with each other to win the title. More than 30 participants come to take part in the Power Slap. They divided into two teams: Team Wolverine and Team Destroyer. Within the groups, there are both amateur and professional slap fighters.
The show follows strict rules assigned by Nevada State Athletic Commission. It is a one-on-one match between a striker and a defender. The referee tosses a coin to decide who will hit first. A timer of 30 seconds strikes the opponent. The defender has to stand without any movement and putting hands to his sides.
The defender gets 30 seconds to recover and hit the striker. The match is over when one is unconscious, technically knocked out in the first slap, or disqualified qualified due to falling down. There are more than three rounds done for scoring the striker and the defender.
For slapping, a specific area of the person’s face is designated. The damage caused by the slap, effectiveness, defender reaction time, and recovery is all considered when scoring. Before the winner announcement, the judges observe a replay of the match. Players must be careful not to commit fouls such as clubbing, stepping, illegal knockdown, and flinching or moving away.
Before the match, they must undergo a weight check. The rule for participant weight is similar to the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. The use of drugs and the violation of any laws is prohibited. The player will be banned from taking part in future matches.
