Naoki Yamakawa and Masashi Asaki created the manga series My Home Hero, first serialized in Japan’s Weekly Young Magazine in 2017. The manga has been compiled into 19 volumes and remains popular despite nearing its conclusion. An anime adaptation was announced in June 2022, and Tezuka Productions was chosen to produce the series for viewers to enjoy.
The My Home Hero’s Twitter account, based on the manga by Naoki Yamakawa and Masashi Asaki, released another promotional clip revealing that the anime will premiere on April 2. It also features the opening theme intro song “Ai no Uta” (Song of Love) by Chiai Fujikawa.
On April 2 at 11:30 p.m. JST, the My Home Hero anime will begin on Tokyo MX and BS TV. The anime will also be available on Crunchyroll while it airs. Takashi Kamei will be directing My Home Hero’s anime adaptation written by Kohei Kiyasu, with Masatsune Noguchi handling character design. The anime’s first season will feature a talented cast of Japanese voice actors to give voice to the characters in the series.
The voice cast for the upcoming anime series, which includes Sayaka Ohara as Kasen Tosu, the 41-year-old wife of Tetsuo, and Shinichiro Miki as Yoshitatsu Matori, Nobuto’s father, has been announced. Katsuhiro Tokuishi will voice the character Takeda Kōichi, while Yamadera will lend his voice to Shino Chihiro.
Reika Tosu, Tetsuo’s only daughter and a first-year college student, will be voiced by Shirata, while Keita Tada will play Nobuto Matori, Reika’s boyfriend. Junichi Suwabe will lend his voice to Tetsuo Tosu, a 47-year-old toy maker, while Rumi Okubo will voice Hibiki, and Akio Ohtsuka will play Kubo, Nobuto’s girlfriend.
Mitsuhiro Sakamaki has been cast as Tabata Kent, a leader figure in an organized crime group, while Itō will voice Kyōichi Majima, a 20-year-old who is a member of the same crime group. Fans of the series are eagerly waiting for its release and are excited to see these talented voice actors bring the characters to life.
About My Home Hero
Tetsuo Tosu is Matori Nobuto, her boyfriend, who has mentally and physically abused a 5 to 9 office worker who finds out about his daughter Reika. To protect his daughter, Tetsuo investigates Nobuto and discovers that he is a member of a criminal organization that extorts money from wealthy families. Furthermore, he discovers that Nobuto has a history of murdering his former girlfriends.
Fearing Reika’s security, Tetsuo kills Matori in a moment of a burst. With the aid of Kasen, his wife, they get rid of the body and attempt to avoid any suspicion from the syndicate. Despite that, the syndicate starts to suspect something is amiss, and Tetsuo and Kasen must act steady and quickly to keep their precious family safe.
Their struggles to cover the crime begin to impact Tetsuo’s mental state as he deals with the fear of getting caught and the guilt of murdering a human. Meanwhile, Kasen tries to comfort her husband and shield their daughter from the syndicate’s threats.
As the circumstances become more tangled, Kasen and Tetsuo must risk making tough agreements to guarantee their family’s security. They must still manage their facade and prevent getting caught red-handed by the higher-ups or the syndicate.
Despite the immense challenges they stand against, the husband and wife huddle up to work to keep their daughter safe and secure the family to keep safe.
