In this article, we will give you a plot summary of the drama. We will also be telling you where you can watch the drama Marriage Contract.
Marriage Contract: Plot Summary
The show claims to be an emotional drama that focuses on love and family. The three main characters of the show are Kang Hye Soo, Han Ji Hoon, and adorable Cha Eun Sung. When Kang Hye Soo learns that she has got only a few days to live, she can only think of her 7-year-old daughter. This leads her to sign a strictly business marriage contract with her boss Han Ji Hoon. On the other hand, Han Ji Hoon agrees to this because of his ailing mother.
Furthermore, Han Ji Hoon comes from a chaebol family ( basically a very rich family) and decides to help Kang Hye Soo, if she donates her liver in return. Kang Hye Soo willingly agrees to this if Han Ji Hoon promises to provide for her daughter until she reaches adulthood. Although the story seems tragic from the beginning it gives enough to smile about for the viewers. This show relays the message that love is the only cure for people.
Marriage Contract: Review
At first sight, the show just seems to be feeding into the problematic romanticization of marriage contracts in Korean dramas. Although it does involve a contract marriage, the show explores a range of emotions. It makes you grateful for the things in daily life that are underappreciated. Furthermore, it makes the viewers realize that no matter how much money you have in the end love is the cure. The show picks up the pace from the second episode itself and keeps you hooked. A strange opinion is that the show almost feels like reading a book. The scenes are not over the top or cringe. A fan-favorite moment is when Ji Hoon’s mother tells his father that no one will be by his side when he dies.
All the actors of this series deserve a huge round of applause. From the little girl Shin Rin Ah who plays Cha Eun Sung to Oh Mi Ran who plays Ji Hoon’s mother everyone is perfect. Moreover, Uee makes Kang Hye Soo’s character special because of her realistic acting. The actors went on to win various prestigious awards for their actions on this show. Uee won the Best Actress at the 23rd Grimae Awards. She also won the Golden Acting Award at the 36th MBC Drama Awards. Furthermore, Lee Seo Jin won the Top Excellence Award, Actor at the 36th MBC Drama Awards.
