Showtime is back with yet another gripping documentary mini-series, Catching Lightning. The mini-series is under the direction of Pat Kondelis, who has won the Emmy Awards twice for his work in Outcry and Disgraced. What Is The Premise Of Catching Lightning?
Based on the true incident of 2006’s Great Britain’s Securitas Depot robbery, Catching Lightning follows the story of the life of the infamous mixed martial arts fighter Lightning Lee Murray and his conspiracy and role in one of the largest bank robberies in history. The series chronicles the tale of the robbery in Murray’s own words through never-heard-before interviews with great MMA fighters like Anderson Silva and Chuck Liddell, as well as Murray’s wife, daughter, and closest friends.
The series graphically covers the investigation and audacious robbery that captured the attention of the British media for months, using previously available material and spectacular recreation shots at the crime scenes. Therefore, offering a distinctive viewpoint of the thrilling story.
The series takes the audience through a chilling story of crime, justice, and mixed martial arts.
