How To Protect My Male Lead Chapter 7 opens up with the Emperor telling Cedric that his marriage has been decided. As expected, Cedric isn’t very pleased about this as he didn’t even consent to this marriage.
The Emperor further adds that he just thought that it was about time Cedric got married, so he has even made all the necessary preparations for the marriage. Cedric sighs and asks the Emperor if he summoned him just for this.

The Emperor tells Cedric to marry the daughter of House Valentine. He further adds that he chose House Valentine because it is a prestigious household that fits the reputation of Cedric, The Grand Duke. Cedric thanks the Emperor for being so generous towards him, and he also expresses how honored he feels because of it.
The Emperor gets confused by this sudden show from Cedric, so he takes it as if Cedric is trying to disobey his orders. Cedric doesn’t beat around the bush and immediately accepts the marriage order, which shocks the Emperor because he was expecting Cedric to show resistance.
Cedric says that he can’t disobey Imperial Orders, so that he will marry the woman chosen by the Emperor, but he also makes it clear that he won’t obey the Emperor’s orders for too long. The Emperor and Cedric stare at each other for a while, and then Cedric decides to leave.
As Cedric leaves the palace, The Emperor gets furious because of his imprudence. The Emperor then calls for his spy and asks her about the progress of the Holy Sword search. The spy tells the Emperor that they have found no leads on the holy sword, and Cedric also doesn’t have that sword. The Spy assures the Emperor that as long as he trusts her, she will surely bring the holy sword to him.
The Emperor asks the Spy if she’s sure that the holy sword has revealed itself. The Spy says that she’s sure because she confirmed it through the mirror that has been tracking the sword all this time. The only difficulty is that if Cedric doesn’t have the sword, then it would be difficult to find the sword as there’s no solid evidence regarding its location.
The Emperor asks the spy if she can still find the holy sword despite all these issues, and she reassures him that she will. She then tells the Emperor that the blessing of the great god is with him, so he doesn’t need to fear anything. The Emperor then leaves after saying that he will now keep watch over Cedric through the Daughter of Valentine, who’s marrying him.
The focus then shifts to Iris talking with his siblings regarding the marriage. As expected from her hateful siblings, they all refuse to visit Iris’ wedding by making up excuses. Iris tells her siblings that she’s fine if they don’t come. She thinks to herself that it is better if they don’t visit because she would be at peace alone.
Iris wonders if her siblings even came this far because they were worried about her running away. Iris boards the carriage and tells her father that from now on, she won’t be a part of the Valentine household. Iris’ Father gets furious at Iris because he didn’t expect her to talk back to him.
Iris’ Father tells her that she has never done anything for the family and that she has always been useless to him. He continues to hurl insults at Iris, but she interrupts his words and continues. Iris tells her father that she’s well aware of the fact that this marriage was fixed by the marriage, which means that he sent various precious gifts in exchange for her.
Iris tells her father that she has seen what kind of man he truly is, and so she won’t be swayed by her words anymore. Iris then leaves the place after telling everyone to stay as shameless as they are right now.
