The King of Evil, Ganondorf, one of Zelda’s favorite foes, is back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In the game’s opening cutscene, Ganondorf completely dominates Link, breaks the Master Sword, and reduces Link to a mere shadow of his former self.
This marks Ganondorf’s triumphant return to the series. Link and the five Sages return to the Hyrule Castle to face off against the Demon King and for all after traveling to Hyrule to protect the lands from strange phenomena and build up his strength. Coming into a clash with Ganondorf prepared certainly altered the course of events for Hyrule.
Whatever the era is, Link always has to face Ganondorf at the conclusion of a Zelda game. Nothing is different in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This time, the war takes place at the end of the “Destroy Ganondorf” quest.
The new gloom mechanic in Tears of the Kingdom, which messes with your maximum health and healing, makes fighting Ganondorf challenging. In other words, if you enter the situation unprepared, it’s that your hopes and dreams of saving Zelda will be brutally dashed. So buckle up now. We are gonna give you every detail on his locations and how you can beat this being in the game.

Where Can You Find Demon King Ganondorf?
Demon King Ganondorf, the game’s final boss, can be found in the depths beneath Hyrule, which can be reached via the enormous chasm beneath Hyrule Castle.
It’s not quite that easy, though. When you first arrive at the bottom of the chasm, you’ll notice that everything is completely dark and that the enemies here are much more difficult than those you’ve been dealing with until this point in the game.
To reach Demon King Ganondorf, you have to fight your way through the tunnels of Hyrule Castle and descend even deeper into the earth. As with Breath of the Wild’s Beasts, you can access this area as you arrive in Hyrule, but the battle changes depending on whether you’ve finished all the local phenomena or not.
You’ll find yourself falling into the same chasm from the beginning of the game where you lost your arm when you’ve battled (or run) your way through the tunnels of Hyrule Castle.
Here, you’ll face off waves upon waves of adversaries, but thankfully, the Sages will be by your side, making this team fight a little simpler. We advise eliminating the ranged enemies as soon as the battle starts because they are very skilled at lurking in the shadows and slowly draining your health.
How to Beat Demon King Ganondorf?
The boss fights against Demon King Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom starts when you finish all main story quests, retrieve Master Sword, and head towards the Hyrule Castle.
You will meet the Demon King directly once you have passed through the last dungeon of the Hyrule Castle Chasm. We divided the fight into three distinct phases, each stronger than the previous one. Here are all three phases in detail:
Phase-I
The first phase is similar to the boss’ battle against Phantom Ganon, where Ganondorf typically uses a series of sword attacks that are fairly simple to parry and avoid. We should note that every single one of Ganondorf’s blows will also deal gloom damage.
Therefore, having consumables for gloom resistance close at hand will be extremely helpful. It is common for Ganondorf to switch to a spear and use a few new moves when he has lost half of his health, but you can easily avoid these.
Phase-II
Once more, this section reminds me of the earlier game’s battle with Phantom Ganon. There will be several illusions of Ganondorf that approach you. For this stage, some of your friends will return and deflect some of the attention from you. To time your dodges against this Ganondorf’s attacks, you’ll need to focus on the Ganondorf that shines brighter than the others.
There are many attacks in this phase that are similar to those in the first one, but if you can master the timing of Flurry Rush, you can avoid most of them and quickly deplete his health.
Phase-III
Ganondorf will enter his final phases, where he changes into a Demon Dragon once you’ve depleted his somewhat inflated health bar from the second phase. Fortunately, the Light Dragon will come to your aid and assist you in scaling the Demon Dragon.
This phase seeks to inflict harm by attacking the glowing areas of its body. You must land on the Demon Dragon’s head to deliver the finishing blow to the glowing crystal on its head after you have damaged all three of the glowing sections on its body.
The Demon King Ganondorf will be defeated after you destroy the crystal in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Hyrule will once more be spared from impending destruction.
