Popular actress and businesswoman Priscilla Ann Presley grabbed huge media attention and fame after she got married to the late legendary artist Elvis Presley.
Priscilla went on to produce the television movie “Elvis and Me” back in 1988 and then later put forward her story in the 1990 TV series Elvis, along with the documentary “Elvis Presley: The Searcher in 2018.
Director Sofia Coppola has recently released her movie Elvis, which sheds light on the iconic star’s marital life with Priscilla.
Coppola recently revealed that Priscilla is also an executive producer on the film while adding how she met with her a few times and revealed how she has been incredibly open and really supportive of the female lead, Cailee Spaeny, who is playing her in the movie.
The movie also stars Jacob Elordi, Dagmara Domińczyk, Luke Humphrey, and Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll.
How Old Was Priscilla When She Started Dating Elvis?
Priscilla was just 14 when she started dating Elvis. The two crossed paths at a party in Bad Nauheim, Germany, when the pop star was doing military service. As the two met, sparks flew between the two, and they soon started dating until 1960, when Elvis returned to America.
While the wife’s age gap attracted speculation amongst people, Priscilla did address it and explained that she was actually a little bit older in life, if not in numbers, and that was the attraction in her.
Priscilla described Elvis as someone who was very kind, soft, and loving and added how he also respected the fact that she was only 14 years old as they were more in line in thought, and that was their relationship.
Were Priscilla And Elvis Married?
The two tied the knot in 1967 at an intimate wedding ceremony that took place in the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas when Priscilla was 21 years old.
The wedding was attended by a few people, but the ceremony was soon followed by an extravagant press conference and a lucrative $10,000 breakfast reception, and later, the pair set off on a three-day honeymoon in Palm Springs. The newly married couple later went to a private ranch in Mississippi for three weeks.
However, the whirlwind romance had a fe hi-ups on the way, and the pair separated several times, but despite their separation, the two still remained close for the sake of their daughter.
Priscilla recalled how Elvis looked more handsome than he appeared in films and added how he looked younger and more vulnerable looking with his GI haircut when she first saw him.
Priscilla revealed how their wedding was rather; she further recalled how the guests only included people who were the closest to them and private, and that’s how they wanted it. The pair admittedly did not want a fan club or a circus.
Did Elvis Cheat On Priscilla?
Their marital bliss was rather short-lived as the iconic pop star soon made headlines for his alleged affair with Viva Las Vegas” co-star Ann-Margret.
Not only that, but Priscilla later revealed in her 1985 memoir, Elvis and Me, that she got so upset about ongoing rumors of Elvis and Ann-Margret getting engaged that she ended up throwing a vase at the wall.
Priscilla once recalled in an early interview how things were difficult for her as women would gravitate towards Elvis and that she would be nervous if Elvis had to go places alone.
Further revealed that she would accompany him even to get his teeth cleaned! Priscilla admitted that she always had an eye on Elvis because everyone in the world was after the pop star.
Priscilla was also romantically linked with her karate instructor, Mike Stone. However, their alleged relationship was a secret for around a year before they told Elvis, as Stone later revealed that it was Priscilla’s decision to tell Elvis, and only when Priscilla felt confident and secure in their relationship to reveal it to Elvis.
