House of the Dragon Episode 6 will have a time jump, and it will be a significant one. This is the longest time period that we will witness passing by in the series, and here is what the fans need to know more about it. Back in the 5th episode, we saw that Rhaenyra is set to marry Ser Laenor Velaryon, which will result in the two most powerful and richest houses in the 7 kingdoms coming together in a union.
Although, this marriage coming off without any drama is basically impossible, and thus, the King decided to marry Rhaenyra and Laenor in a private ceremony before anyone else could be killed. It was actually a great decision on his behalf because there would practically be riots by the time pre-wedding nuptials are over, and the royal wedding actually takes place.
In the latest episode, we saw that Laenor and Rhaenyra have come to a mutual understanding that they will both just do the duties which are asked of them by their fathers and continue venturing into their own respective interests. It is fine by Laenor as he and Rhaenyra had basically grown up together in the Red Keep before Ser Corlys decided to go back to his family seat after the King married Lady Allicent instead of Lady Lana Velaryon.
House of the Dragon Episode 5 Recap
Ser Laenor is gay, and his orientation is obviously known to Rhaenyra. Thus, this is an easy marriage for her because she would not have to actually sleep with him and could pursue her own romantic interest in Ser Criston, who is her sworn shield. At the pre-wedding nuptials, we see how Joffrey Lonmouth, the lover of Ser Laenor, starts bonding with Ser Criston and says that they both should protect the secret of their lovers and serve them properly. This angers Ser Criston, who ends up killing him in the royal hall himself.
We know that Ser Criston is not okay with Rhaenyra marrying off as he has genuine feelings for her. The Princess and heir to the Iron Throne are also compelled to do her duties and can not shy away just for a man who is not even from noble birth. She is the blood of the dragon and knows it well. Although, Ser Criston feels offended as if The Princess is just using him for the nights as she smiles upon the realm with Ser Laenor’s hand in hers. Talking about the same, here is how much time we will see the next episode jumping through.
