House of the Dragon Episode 6 deaths came in the most horrific but true Game of Thrones fashion, and we are here to break them all down for you. The episode began with Queen Allicent, who obviously has a political beef with Princess Rhaenyra. She, along with the rest of the folks at the Red Keep, is talking about how Ser Harwin is the father of Rhaenyra’s kids rather than Ser Laenor Velaryon.
Throughout the episode, we see that these rumors are sort of confirmed because we saw how Ser Harwin had a sudden outburst when Ser Criston Cole talked about him being the father of the Velaryon children. And later, when he was leaving King’s Landing for Harrenhal, he was also overly emotional towards the kids and said some heartfelt goodbyes.
He also talked about the fact that when he sees Rhaenyra’s newborn son, the man will be grown and will only see him as a stranger. He was expelled as the Lord Commander of the City Watch after his act of arrogance over a White Cloak.
Well, he was soon to die, and nobody saw that coming. With this, let us discuss the most horrific and terrifying deaths in House of the Dragon Episode 6.
1. Lady Laena Velaryon
Lady Laena was seen pregnant when the 6th episode started. She was desperate to go back to her family seat and home at Driftmark in Westeros. Although, this was not agreed upon by her husband, Prince Daemon. It is because Daemon wants to be away from his family politics as much as possible and is thus living in Pentos at the house of a wealthy merchant.
Coning right to it, Laena Velaryon is upset and is trying to care for the two little girls that the couple shares. While she is on her birthing bed, the maestors reveal that the baby is not coming out. It could only mean two ways. Either they can kill the baby and save the mother. Or they can cut open Laena’s belly and extract the child.
Even though there is no guarantee that they could be saved. Having seen women die on their birthing beds, Laena knew this was her time. She wanted to go as a true Targaryen and Velaryon and thus, came back to her dragon Vhaegar. She commands her to light her up. With constant nags of “Dracarys”, Vhaegar finally agrees to burn Laena as Daemon watches.
2. Ser Harwin Strong
We saw Ser Harwin in the 5th episode once during the royal wedding as he was trying to calm down Ser Criston. Later, he got a more substantial role in the 6th episode when the time changed, and he has come quite close to Rhaenyra. It is rumored that he is the father of her children, and rightly so, his affection towards them proves it right.
Although, it was never confirmed in the episode at all. Well, Queen Allicent is, of course, upset about the news that Rhaenyra is getting rid of duties and being a spoilt Princess. She also wants to ensure her children’s future and thus, is trying to frame her for treason. While talking with Ser Larys Strong, she wishes that someone would actually see her and help her. He took it upon himself and orchestrated a fire at Harrenhal, his own family seat, which ended up killing Ser Harwin Strong.
3. Ser Lyonel Strong
Ser Lyonel Strong has served King Viserys as a loyal Hand for more than 10 years now in House of the Dragon Episode 6. After rumors are going around the Red Keep about him and Rhaenyra and his son’s sudden outburst, Ser Lyonel tries to resign as the Hand.
Although, the King refuses to do the same. Instead, they both agree upon a mutual decision to send Ser Harwin back to Harrenhal to take care of their family seat. While they are at the palace, the fire ends up killing Ser Lyonel as well along with his son.
