Hololive is officially making the jump to television anime with a new project being developed as part of its upcoming 10th-anniversary celebrations. KADOKAWA Corporation and COVER Corporation announced the project on September 7, revealing that Studio KAI will handle animation production. The announcement was made during the hololive Next 2026.9.7 special livestream, which launched the countdown toward hololive’s 10th anniversary.
The project is currently being referred to by the mysterious abbreviation “Odeholo.” While the companies have confirmed that it will be a hololive anime, major details including its storyline, visual information and the meaning behind its unusual title are being kept secret for now. Those details are scheduled to arrive during a dedicated announcement stream later this month.
Studio KAI Is Producing Hololive’s First TV Anime
Studio KAI has been selected as the animation studio for the new hololive project. The studio has previously worked on official hololive animations and music videos, making it a familiar production partner for COVER and its talents. The new series is intended to bring the personalities and appeal of hololive’s performers into a dedicated animated format.
The announcement comes as hololive approaches its 10th anniversary, giving the anime a prominent place among the projects being developed to mark the milestone. COVER has also continued expanding hololive beyond livestreaming, including the launch of the official hololive Dreams smartphone game in July 2026.
At present, however, there is no confirmed premiere date, episode count or detailed story synopsis for “Odeholo.” The production announcement also does not establish whether the anime will focus on a specific generation, a selected group of talents or a larger ensemble from across hololive.
“Odeholo” Mystery Will Be Explained on September 23
The biggest immediate question surrounding the project is what “Odeholo” actually means. COVER has deliberately presented the term as a mystery ahead of the next major reveal, encouraging fans to speculate about its meaning using the official #Odeholo hashtag.
The answer is scheduled to arrive during a special livestream on September 23, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. JST. The program will feature Momosuzu Nene, Omaru Polka, Yukihana Lamy and Shishiro Botan, with Shirakami Fubuki and Ookami Mio serving as MCs.
The broadcast will take place on the official “Odeholo” YouTube channel, while the project’s official social media account is @odeholo. The September 23 presentation is expected to reveal the anime’s key visual, story information and the identity behind the “Odeholo” name.
With Studio KAI already attached and the project positioned as a major 10th-anniversary celebration, Odeholo is shaping up to be one of hololive’s most significant anime projects yet.
