Kim Deuk Pal is a 47-year-old gangster known as the second-in-command in his gang. Despite his tough exterior, Deuk Pal has always had a dream of attending university, a goal he couldn’t pursue earlier due to his family’s financial struggles.
Determined to make his dream come true, he dedicates himself to studying, although the journey is far from easy. One day, while going about his life, he encounters a young man named Song Yi Heon who is on the verge of committing suicide. In a twist of fate, Deuk Pal’s spirit ends up possessing the body of Yi Heon, a 19-year-old high school student.
As Deuk Pal faces life in Yi Heon’s body, he discovers the heartbreaking reason behind Yi Heon’s despair: relentless bullying. Moved by the young man’s plight and with a newfound sense of purpose, Deuk Pal decides to confront the bullies and seek justice for Yi Heon.
This leads to unexpected friendships, particularly with Choi Se Kyung, a seemingly perfect model student. Despite his exemplary academic performance and outwardly ideal life, Se Kyung is secretly dealing with severe domestic violence at the hands of his father.
In Yi Heon’s body, Deuk Pal not only fights the bullies but also supports Se Kyung, forming a bond with him. This experience allows Deuk Pal to understand the different struggles that people face, no matter their age or social status. Through his efforts, he starts to see the impact of his actions on the lives of those around him, blending his tough persona with newfound empathy and determination to make things right.
