High Priest Rembrary, also known as “The Heavenly Idol” is based on the popular webtoon called “Holy Idol.” The protagonists of this fantasy K-drama are Kim Min Kyu, who became a crush for several for his role in Business Proposal; Bo Gyeol, and Lee Jang Woon.

The K-drama, High Priest Rembrary focuses on the life of Rembrary when he gets transported to modern South Korea.
Rembrary honors a deity who connects the physical world with the afterlife. Rembrary, however, is transported to contemporary South Korea by a strange series of events, where he swaps souls with Woo Yeon Woo, a K-pop idol. The “visual center” of the failing K-pop group Wild Animal is Woo Yeon Woo. Rembrary is oblivious to modern culture. As a result, he finds it challenging to adjust to his environment, which also involves acting, dancing, and giving a live performance in front of people.
In between all the chaos, Yeon Woo’s biggest fan, Kim Dal, takes over as the new manager of Wild Animal to rescue his career. As the narrative progresses, it soon becomes apparent that Rembrary is not the only person to have crossed over from the other realm; more beings have also come to create havoc.
From the latest teaser of High Priest Rembrary (The Heavenly Idol), we can gain some understanding of the drama. In the teaser, we see High Priest Rembrary waking up in the body of a K-pop idol, Woo Yeon Woo. He is seen getting used to his new role as an idol. Woo Yeon Woo struggles with aspects of his new idol life, such as living in a disorganized dorm and eating salad for meals. People around him are seen to be concerned over his abrupt personality change.
Then we get introduced to Kim Dal, who is a huge fan of Woo Yeon Woo. As her life surrounds the K-pop idol, Kim Dal is seen to be extra worried about Woo Yeon Woo’s surprising “memory loss.” She lies about being a fan at the job interview when she applies for the position of Wild Animal’s manager. Later, we see Rembrary admit to her that he is not Woo Yeon Woo.
Thereafter, we see High Priest Rembrary being finally able to connect with Woo Yeon Woo in his realm. But to his surprise, the idol says he won’t come back unless Wild Animal is awarded the Artist of the Year. To this, Kim Dal helps him by instructing and teaching him the ways of the idol business, which includes how to bow respectfully, maintain a healthy diet, and act adorable in front of the camera. This sparks an adorable and funny friendship between the two.
To return to his realm, we then see Woo Yeon Woo trying hard to adjust to his idol life with the support of Wild Animal’s agency CEO, a senior artist, and Kim Dal, despite the trouble he has to face when confronted with Shin Jo Woon, who is possessed by the devil king of darkness and the possibility of disbandment.
