Helldivers 2 continues to be a major commercial success for PlayStation, selling more than 2.5 million copies in 2026 and generating approximately $81.1 million in revenue. Despite launching in February 2024, Arrowhead Game Studios’ cooperative shooter continues to attract a substantial audience, with its latest sales figures highlighting its staying power as a live-service game.
The numbers come from Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott, who shared the estimates in a November 6, 2026 report examining PlayStation’s highest-grossing games this generation. According to the analysis, Helldivers 2 has sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, generating approximately $786.3 million in lifetime revenue.
The game’s performance is particularly notable because it has maintained strong premium sales while continuing to expand its player base through new platforms and subscription services.
Helldivers 2 Has Sold 23 Million Copies Across Three Platforms
Alinea Analytics’ estimates also reveal how Helldivers 2 has performed across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. Steam accounts for the largest portion of its sales, representing 66.1% of all copies sold. PlayStation 5 contributes 25.7%, while Xbox accounts for 8.3%.
The Xbox version arrived in August 2025, approximately 18 months after the game’s original release. Despite its delayed launch, Microsoft’s platform has contributed to the game’s growing commercial success.
The report also highlights the game’s impressive player engagement. More than 4 million players have spent over 100 hours in Helldivers 2, while approximately 462,000 have accumulated more than 500 hours.
These figures demonstrate how the cooperative shooter has managed to retain a dedicated audience well beyond its initial launch period.
Helldivers 2 Continues to Attract 700,000 Daily Players
Beyond its sales performance, Helldivers 2 reportedly attracts approximately 700,000 players daily, with its audience increasing following major updates. Its continued popularity has also benefited from its addition to PlayStation Plus Extra in August 2026.
According to Alinea Analytics, the subscription addition brought approximately 1.6 million new players into the game. This has helped Arrowhead expand its audience while continuing to generate revenue through individual game purchases.
The game’s combination of cooperative combat, regular content updates, and its ongoing Galactic War has helped maintain player interest. Its performance also makes it an example of the commercial potential of multiplayer-focused releases for PlayStation.
Helldivers 2 Remains One of PlayStation’s Biggest Commercial Hits
The latest estimates place Helldivers 2 fourth among the highest-grossing PlayStation-associated games of the current generation, behind God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Gran Turismo 7.
However, its 23 million lifetime sales surpass every other game featured in Alinea’s top 10 ranking. Its success across three platforms also demonstrates the importance of PC and Xbox audiences to its commercial performance.
