Arrowhead Game Studios has announced new measures to combat players exploiting Super Credits in Helldivers 2, responding to community concerns about unfair progression. The developer says the changes are designed to detect suspicious premium currency gains while ensuring that players who earn Super Credits through regular gameplay are unaffected.
The announcement comes as Arrowhead continues working to rebuild player confidence following months of updates focused on performance, progression, and overall game stability.
Arrowhead Cracks Down on Super Credit Exploits
In a post published on the game’s official Steam page, Arrowhead acknowledged player feedback regarding cheating and automation tools used to generate Super Credits at unrealistic rates.
The studio stated,
“You’ve told us that cheaters and exploiters ruin the experience that it feels unfair when someone games the super credit system while you’re out there earning yours the hard way. We heard you, and we’re starting to implement changes that will tackle issues like this.”
According to the developer, the update introduces improved monitoring systems capable of identifying players earning Super Credits
“at an unreasonably high rate.”
Those safeguards specifically target players using bots, automation software, or duplication exploits rather than those collecting the currency through normal gameplay.

Arrowhead emphasized that legitimate players exploring maps, completing objectives, and discovering loot caches should not notice any changes to their experience.
Super Credits serve as Helldivers 2’s premium currency and are primarily used to unlock Warbonds, which contain weapons, armor, cosmetics, and other rewards.
Arrowhead explained that the new system is aimed solely at protecting fair progression, adding that
“Cheaters. Botters. People using automation and duplication exploits to hoover up super credits at rates no human Helldiver could ever reach legitimately.”
will be the focus of enforcement.
The developer also said a healthier in-game environment ensures that Super Credits earned through honest play remain meaningful, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining a level playing field.
While many players have welcomed stronger anti-cheat efforts, the announcement has also reignited discussions about how Super Credits are earned in the first place.
Currently, the currency is primarily found by exploring points of interest, abandoned bunkers, and hidden containers during missions. Many community members have argued that repeatedly farming these locations can become repetitive, especially since lower-difficulty missions often provide the fastest way to collect Super Credits.
As a result, some players have suggested introducing alternative progression methods, such as combat challenges, mission objectives, or seasonal activities that reward premium currency while encouraging normal gameplay.
