A leaked store listing has fueled speculation that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is returning with a Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Although Ubisoft has not officially announced the release, the publisher has acknowledged the leak and confirmed that more Ghost Recon news will be shared during the franchise’s 25th anniversary celebration on August 6.
The timing has led many fans to believe the Definitive Edition could be one of the announcements planned for the event.
Leak Suggests Native Current-Gen Version
Promotional images discovered through the Xbox Game Hub indicate that Ghost Recon Wildlands Definitive Edition will feature 4K resolution, 60 FPS support, and a brand-new mission titled Last Rights.
The leaked edition also reportedly bundles the base game with the Season Pass, Year 2 Pass, and multiple content packs, making it the most complete version of Ubisoft’s 2017 open-world tactical shooter.
While Wildlands is already playable through backward compatibility on current consoles, a native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release would allow Ubisoft to fully utilize modern hardware.
The leak has raised questions about whether the Definitive Edition is a true remaster or simply a re-release with bundled content. Ubisoft has not clarified the nature of the project, and previous releases such as The Division Definitive Edition primarily packaged existing DLC rather than delivering significant visual overhauls.
Meanwhile, Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft is also exploring similar upgrades for other legacy titles, including Watch Dogs: Legion.
Fans won’t have to wait long for official details, as Ubisoft has already confirmed more Ghost Recon announcements are coming on August 6, making the upcoming anniversary event the most likely stage for revealing the Definitive Edition.
