Australian comedian Hamish Blake has disclosed that he recently underwent emergency surgery.
The 42-year-old explained that doctors performed a procedure to remove skin cancer from his forehead. Blake shared the update through his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, according to News.com.au.
In one image posted to his Stories, Blake included a close-up of the fresh scar along with the five stitches placed after the operation. “I’m doing the other side in a few weeks,” he wrote in the Story, per News.com.au.
He followed that with another image offering an even tighter view of the mark. In the accompanying caption, Blake clarified that the opposite side of his forehead is “not really” scheduled for surgery.
“This is my reminder to anyone who needs it (i.e. everyone) to get your skin checked every six months,” he continued.
The Lego Masters Australia presenter later reassured followers that “everything totally [is] fine,” adding, “But glad she got caught very early.”
The health update comes shortly after fellow Australian actor Hugh Jackman revealed he had tested negative for skin cancer, writing, “Thank You All For The Love.”

Blake was previously photographed arriving for the Nine 2023 Upfronts Photo Call on September 14, 2022, in Sydney, Australia.
Before undergoing the emergency procedure, Blake, an enthusiastic cyclist, had documented his participation in a demanding multisport event on New Zealand’s South Island in mid-February.
He explained that the race required competitors to bike, run, and paddle “over 2 days to get from one side of the country to the other.”
The father of two admitted that his decision to take part was driven by the challenge itself, saying he committed because “it sounded like exactly the kind of thing [he] couldn’t do, which sometimes [he] thinks is a great reason you should have a go.”
“It beat us up pretty good, but my god was it beautiful while it did it, and it has gifted us a lifetime of memories,” wrote Blake. “And a big thanks to my knee,s who are shitty at me still and have requested a transfer to another body, but I know we’ll laugh about it one day,” he jokingly concluded.
