As the Japanese box office witnesses a dynamic display, Haikyu!! FINAL, in its triumphant third weekend, clinched the second position just behind the latest Doraemon film.
Surpassing the remarkable 5 billion yen milestone on its 17th day in theaters, the anime film, currently the talk of the town, sets the stage for even more milestones.
As of March 3, Kogyo Tsushin’s latest report unveils Haikyu!! FINAL’s impressive financial feat, accumulating a staggering 5.1 billion yen (US$33.94 million) with 3.59 million tickets sold.
The film’s journey to the 5 billion yen mark mirrors the timelines of other cinematic heavyweights like Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween, Code Blue, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, all of which concluded just shy of the 10 billion yen zenith.
On a parallel note, the acclaimed Frozen also achieved the 5 billion yen feat in 17 days, securing its position as the 4th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.
