The Gundam SEED franchise is preparing for a major fan event in New York this October, with MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM ZERO set to receive fresh updates during New York Comic Con 2026. Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. has announced a packed lineup surrounding the franchise, including a dedicated NYCC panel, a worldwide streaming program and a special GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM screening at the Museum of the Moving Image.
The celebrations will also bring together several members of the English voice cast. Matt Hill, Sam Vincent and Matthew Erickson, who voice Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala and Shinn Asuka respectively, will reunite for multiple fan events throughout NYCC.
With new information about GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM ZERO at the center of the festivities, the New York events are set to give fans several opportunities to learn about the next chapter in the Gundam SEED saga.
Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO Gets Major NYCC 2026 Panel
The biggest event will take place on October 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The “GUNDAM Showcase 2026 @ NYC – Feat. SEED FREEDOM ZERO” panel will feature English voice actors Matt Hill, Sam Vincent and Matthew Erickson alongside Executive Producer Naohiro Ogata and Planning Producer Kaori Shida.
The panel will focus on the latest news surrounding MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM ZERO, while also highlighting upcoming Gundam initiatives and fan experiences.
Attendees can also receive several giveaways, including a T-shirt, a Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO poster, Gundam Card Game promotional cards, a Gunpla shopping bag and an inflatable Beam Saber. A 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Workshop Kit Ver. is also among the listed giveaways.
Fans will also have an opportunity to meet the English cast during a complimentary autograph session on October 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. EDT at Hall 1A Autographing.
Matt Hill, Sam Vincent and Matthew Erickson will sign Gundam-related items during the event. The autograph session is free, giving fans another chance to meet the actors behind three major characters from the Gundam SEED franchise.
Hill will also appear at the TAMASHII NATIONS booth for a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity on October 9.
Gundam SEED FREEDOM Screening Comes to New York
Outside NYCC, Bandai Namco Filmworks will host a two-day MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM screening at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens.
The October 11 program begins with a 6:30 p.m. talk show featuring Kaori Shida, followed by the film at 7 p.m. The October 12 screening begins at 4 p.m. Both screenings will feature Japanese audio with English subtitles.
Tickets start at $17.50, with discounted prices available for seniors, students and youth. MoMI members can attend for free. The October 11 event will also include an exclusive Gundam SEED series poster giveaway.
Fans unable to attend NYCC will not miss the major announcement. A special GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM ZERO program will stream worldwide through GUNDAM CHANNEL INTL on YouTube beginning at 3:45 p.m. EDT on October 8.
According to Bandai Namco Filmworks, the program will deliver the same updates revealed during the NYCC panel, although it will not be a recording or live broadcast of the panel itself.
New York Comic Con 2026 runs from October 8 through October 11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. The events are part of a broader push to give Gundam SEED fans their first major look at what’s next for GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM ZERO.
